Good morning beautiful humans happy Sunday. Thank you for spending part of your morning with me. Welcome to Life with Lane!

I was actually watching TV the other day. I was flipping through channels and one of my favorite movies, Secretariat, was on Lifetime. I did a little clap and put the remote down. The movie was close to the end and it was showing Secretariat run in the Kentucky Derby. This is sad to admit, but I cry every single time I watch this movie.
About 6 years ago, I we went home for Thanksgiving, as we do each year. We used to go to the movies the day after Thanksgiving but now we watch a movie at my sister’s house as a family. My oldest sister KK, picked the movie that year, she had us watch Secretariat.
I had never heard of Secretariat before this day. We were watching this movie and spoiler alert if you haven’t seen this, I apologize. It was during the part of the movie during the Belmont Stakes. Secretariat comes around the corner wide open and Diane Lane starts narrarating and everyone in the stands looks puzzled. I looked at my sister and said, “If this horse dies I’m going to be really upset!”
Well, guess what, he didn’t die and he beat the other horses by like 24 lengths. I cried. It was like the most amazing thing I had ever seen. I cry everytime I see that scene. That movie makes me believe. No one can ever tell me that horse wasn’t made to run.
Its like when God puts you on this earth for a certain purpose that is exactly what you will do. I guess that also goes for animals. When he raced he always was in the back and he would just glide right by the other horses and win when he knew it was his time to shine.
We are always searching for our purpose and the meaning of life. Sometimes we know at an early age. Sometimes it takes a lifetime to figure it out. Some of us are Secretariat and know from birth.
I’ve always known I like to write and help people. I hope I’m achieving that with my writing. Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed it! Have a wonderful blessed day!
