Smoky Mountains, say what??

Good morning beautiful humans, happy Friday! We made it. Thank you for spending part of your morning with me or evening depending on where you live in this great big world. Welcome to Life with Lane; my life through words, pictures, and food! Come on in………..

“Smoky Mountains, say what??”

I had the pleasure of visiting the Smoky Mountains a few years back. I realized that I haven’t shared my experience with you guys. So, today I’ll take you on my journey into those lovely mountains.

Hello there bear ❤

I assumed this was the welcome bear, lol! He was in front of one of the welcome centers in town. So, of course I had to take a picture with him. It wasn’t very cold when I was there, which was a bummer. I wanted to see snow. However, it was nice to walk around and not be freezing. That can be very uncomfortable. I don’t do cold very well.

Cute little village

I’m not sure what this little village was but I wanted to live there, lol! It wasn’t very far from the welcome center. There were so many little neat shops and candy stores. I was in heaven. Oh, and every other building was a pancake house. I wasn’t aware Tennessee was famous for its pancakes. I kid you not, they were everywhere. Sadly, I didn’t try them because I don’t really like pancakes.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not!

Although there’s a Ripley’s believe it or not here in Orlando, I’ve never been. So, of course I had to go to the one in the Smoky Mountains. There were so many neat and weird things inside there. I felt at home, lol. Someone told me I looked like a 6 year old sitting in that chair. I thought, why 6? Why not 8 or 10? I would definitely visit Ripley’s again. It was really cool.

Aquarium

Did I mention I love sea creatures? I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was younger. I’ve always been fascinated by marine life. So, when I learned there was an aquarium, of course I had to go. That was one of the biggest stingrays I had ever seen. Well, until I saw the next one 🤣. I would’ve been happy staying there all day long. Just imagine all the things that are in the ocean that haven’t been discovered. Crazy when you think about it.

Beautiful

I actually saw this when we were driving through the mountains. I made my friend stop and go back just so I could take a picture. I truly appreciate things like this. Reminded me of being home in Alabama.

We didn’t hike because I’m not a hiker but we did go as far as we could. Plus, I wanted to get some good pictures. I wanted to go ziplining but I changed my mind. Now, I wish I had went ahead and done it. I’ve ziplined before but not through a mountain. The thought gave me horrible anxiety. I’ll get over it next time and just do it! You only live once.

Of course when we were leaving it started to snow a little. Maybe it was at the very top of the mountains that whole time and we just didn’t know it. It was coming down and it looked so neat. Almost unreal. It was so beautiful to see. Looked way better in real life. I just stood there in awe for several minutes. It’s just the little things.

Smoky Mountains

Of course the day I left it got cold and we saw snow coming off the top of the mountains. Can’t be in the Smoky Mountains and not take a picture in front of the sign. I was so tired that day but I was still smiling. It was such a fun time. I can’t wait to go back.
