Where is our place in America???

James Baldwin

Good morning beautiful humans, happy Friday! Last day of the work week, unless you’re like me and you work on the weekends. Regardless, its Friday and we’ve made it through almost another week. Thank you for stopping by my blog. In the words of Shania Twain, “Come on over, come on in……….

My heart has been so heavy for the past few days. I’ve cried so many times and had restless nights of sleep. I’ve wanted to write this blog for such a long time but I wanted to make sure I had my thoughts together. I’m so emotional I didn’t want to let them get to much in the way of my writing. Although writing from the heart is some of the best writing.

As a black woman in America sometimes it feels like we have no place here, which is insane. Partly because my ancestors pretty much built this county. If you’re wondering what I mean, I’m talking about slavery. Slaves, my people, built America with their bare bloody beaten hands. To not have a spot in the place you help build is sad.

No matter where we go, we’re seen as suspicious and asks if we belong their. Nice neighborhoods, executive offices and buildings, and expensive retail stores! Oh and let us be driving a nice car, we’re getting pulled over most definitely. If we’re walking around in a nice neighborhood we can’t possibly live there.

If African American/black athletes speak out, they tell them to shut up and just play ball. If we speak out about the side effects of slavery they say we complain to much. That we should go back to Africa since America is so bad. News flash, most of us have never been to Africa.

It’s like a lot of white people just want us to be black and just shut up. Just be silent and never complain about anything. It’s like we should be grateful that we get to live here. It’s really like we dont have a place here.

I find it insane we have to march for the same rights as white people. We live here to. Me having to march for equal rights for the country I live in is like asking for a key to get into a house I already own! This is bullshit, bullshit at its FINEST!

No race is superior to the other one. Black lives matter. We shouldn’t have to march for equal rights. We shouldn’t have to burn down cities to get you to understand our pain and to treat us like human beings.

Thank you for reading my blog. I hope you can understand where I’m coming from, if not, good day! Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind! 1. I agree with just about everything you’ve posted here. If only people viewed each other as they do themselves, we’d be a much happier planet. We’re all the same, yet beautifully unique.
