I purposely put that quote just so I could say that it isn’t true, lol! I always post positive quotes at the beginning of my blogs. That one is very positive but it isn’t true. I’m a wonderful great daughter and my father/dad has been absent almost my entire life.

If you have any questions about whether I’m great or not please feel free to ask Delma Ann Hooks A.K.A my Queen (mother) and she will tell you. As a matter of fact, all of my sisters are great. Our Dad wasn’t there, but our Mom was. That is where we get our great from! True story folks.

Since my blog is titled letter to my father I suppose i should address my dear old father, lol!

Dear Father, I just wanted to let you know although you were absent basically my entire life, I turned out pretty good. As a matter of fact, I turned out great. That is a result of my Mother. She supported me every way. Made sure I did my homework, came to all my sporting events, made sure I understood the importance of God and family, and she taught me how important morals and values are.

Growing up, although you weren’t there, my Mother never said one bad word about you. Some girls grow up with Daddy issues but I do not have those. When I look for a man but now I know the man is supposed to find me, I always searched for someone that was the exact opposite of you. Honest, trustworthy, and loyal.

I do want to thank you for gifting me with the genes of beauty, lol! If you gave me nothing else, I can say you’re a great looking man and so are my aunts and uncles. Then again that also came from my Mother but I will give you credit there.

Thanks for my face, Dad

You missed out on alot but life is still going. I was the fastest girl in the county 2 years in a row. I graduated from cosmetology school. I graduated summa cum laude and magna cum laude when I was in college. I started my own business. Was in the Orlando Sentinel and Orlando Times newspaper. My writing has also been in a national magazine. I’m Mother to an incredible pup named Onyx for 15 years. So, yes I turned out great. I just wanted you to know. Daughters can turn out great with an absent Father.

Thank you for reading my blog. Like, comment, subscribe. How is your relationship with your father? Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind.
