“Doing things that matter!” Www.lifewithlane.net

My blogs have been a bit heavier lately, I won’t apologize because its exhausting being Black in America. So, therefore all my blogs aren’t always uplifting but they’re real and true! If they don’t seem on the brighter side to you, imagine how I feel!

The phrase walk a mile in my shoes and see how my life is and maybe you’ll have a better understanding of me, is something I think we should be doing right now. More so, I think maybe people should try to take a look at life through of eyes of black, African American, and other minorities! I feel like when my people, black people, ask for equality, justice, treated with human decency, certain races see that as whining, complaining, and wanting a leg up. I’m not sure how wanting to be treated as equals is whining but apparently that’s how of alot of people see it! Which is absolutely insanity.

James Baldwin

Just like there was alot of people that saw the Insurrection at the Capitol the same thing as the Black Lives Matter rallies last summer! The only thing that was the same is that people were angry. The difference is the people that were marching and protesting at the Black Lives Matter rallies were fighting for equality, justice, to be seen and treated as humans, to make people understand that our lives matter. The terrorist that stormed the Capitol were upset their candidate lost, they tried to overthrow the government, they wanted to kill our former Vice President and other members of congress! They went in to harm and kill people all because the candidate they wanted to win lost. None of them were mistreated, suffered inequality, not seen as inhuman, they simply just wanted to overthrow the government because he lost! That is all! There’s no deep rooted story behind that foolishness, it was just that simple!

Try looking through the eyes of others! Being Black/African American in America is exhausting. Seeing your people constantly being mistreated, shot in the streets like animals, getting harsher sentences for the same crimes as white people, being followed around at stores, being told we don’t belong in certain areas! I mean its exhausting and its heartbreaking. Its very tiring. Imagine being seen as a threat just because of the color of your skin…………

Thank you for reading my blog! Like, comment, subscribe! Have a wonderful blessed day and always be kind! Continue to practice social distancing, wash your hands, and don’t forget about your neighbor! #onelove
